| Gillingham Marina |
|
Over ten years
ago Gillingham Marina was awarded five gold anchors by The Yacht
Harbour Association, the industry's highest award, and recently
re-affirmed. Today the Marina lives up to the high
standards demanded and offers all the facilities expected of a
top rate modern Marina.
The company has been serving yachtsmen for over 40 years, the
name Gillingham Marina and the start of a development which has
led to the Marina in its present form came in the early 1970's.
Now fully serviced pontoons provide safe, secure berthing in two
basins for upto 500 boats, those within the locked basin having
access for most of the tide, while those in the tidal basin have
more restricted access. The tidal basin provides an
economical alternative
Access by road is by dual carriageway right up to the Marina
entrance from the A2/M2 via the A289/A278. Gillingham
railway station, a five minute taxi ride away, in on both the
Charing Cross and Victoria lines, the latter offering a fast
service to London and the Kent coast. If that is not fast
enough for you the Marina has its own helicopter landing pad for
jet setter boat owners.
Apart from a secure berth for your boat the Marina offers a new
member's bar and restaurant, a pleasant place to meet
exclusively for berth holders and their guests, refurbished
showers, toilets and laundry room, a children's playground.
Berth holders receive a discount in our chandlery and a loyalty
discount on berthing fees for continous stays of over four
years. |
Annual
berth holders are also offered reduced membership to the onsite
Waterfront Leisure Centre and 50% reduction for up to 5
consecutive day's stay in anyone of the other twenty-five
Transeurope Marinas in England, the Netherlands, Ireland, France
and the Canary Islands.
Within the Chandlery shop, open to the public with adequate car
parking at the door, customers can browse and purchase from the
extensive stock of Gill, Musto, Helly Hanson, Henri Lloyds
clothing, Dubarry and Quayside boots and shoes, a wide range of
chandlery, books and charts, English Braid rope, International
and Blakes paints, Raymarine and Garmin on board electronics,
Suzuki outboards, Avon and Bombard RIBS and dinghies.
Our boat repair workshops are the largest in the South East.
With two boat hoists of 65 tons and 20 tons capacity we can move
boats of up to 26 metres in length into our larger spray booth.
As well as spraying our experienced team can undertake osmosis
prevention and treatment and all the usual marine engineering
and shipwright work. The Port of London, the RNLI, the
Medway ports, are among our customers as well as the work we do
on a wide variety of leisure craft - from annual anti-fouling
application to major insurance repairs.
Our Brokerage department has gained more than 30 years
experience and is always looking for boats to add to its list,
website and national advertising. If you are looking for a
particular boat let us help you find it. |
